What is 811?
811 is a service ran by the Ohio Utilities Protection Service. This service is intended for everyone to include homeowners, contractors, and farmers. 811 is designed to help keep everyone safe when planning to dig into the ground. The service will have a technician come to the excavation site and mark where any underground utility service may be buried so that while digging you want strike water, gas, electric, sewer, cable, or any other type of buried utility line.
When do I call 811?
You need to contact 811 or the Ohio Utility Protection Service 48 hours prior to ANY planned excavation project.
